Tampa medical records software firm wins key certification - Tampa Bay Business Journal:

The certification is a "sea l of approval" for electroniv health record products, according to a releas by Emdeonand CCHIT, an independent nonprofit organizatio n that sets the benchmark for healtn care information technology. The product, Integry EHR, meets CCHITf ambulatory electronic health record criteriafor 2006, the release said. The product was testede and passed inspection on criteria that looked atits functionality, or the abilityg to create and manage electronic records for its interoperability, or the abilithy to receive and send electronic data to other entities such as and its security or ability to keep patients' informationm safe.
Emdeon Practice Services is a Tampa-baserd physician software business and a unit of Emdeon (NASDAQ: HLTH), an Elmwoo Park, N.J.-based provider of business, technology and informatio n solutions to the health care In February, Emdeon said it was evaluatinh strategic alternatives for its Practice Services and Business Serviced units, in connection with inquiries received from thirdr parties interested in buying the Late last month, Emdeon said it expected to wrap up that evaluationm in the second half of July.
