The Washington, D.C.-based think tank has begub analyzing the impact of the recessionthroughout America’es metropolitan areas. In the first of a series of quarterlyMetroMonito reports, Brookings ranked San Oklahoma City, Austin, Houston and Dallas as the top five metro areaw in the country in economi performance in the wake of the Brookings ranked the top 100 metropolitan areas baser on six key indicators — employment, unemployment wages, gross metropolitan product, housing prices and foreclosure rates.
